I am Richard Aillen Taylor or Aillen and this is my virtual Stump. I started to work as a graphic artist in 1986, serving as a part-time draftsman for a local firm. From there I was hired as an interior artist by Forbidden Lines Magazine. I started UNC-Chapel Hill in Cultural Anthropology and Computer Science, but moved on when I was accepted to The Joe Kubert School of Cartooning Graphic Arts. After just two more years, I went out in the world. I worked for a variety of companies as a freelance artist and backup artist, including West End Games, Imperium Games, and Pinnacle Entertainment. Then, like a lot of us, I left the field in the late 90’s to start a career in web design, ultimately working with WUNC-TV Public TV and The National Toxicology Program, among other businesses and institutions. I am back freelancing now with companies such as Mystic Station, Hero Games, Mongoose and Living Room Games. Now I am working on doing editorial Cartoons.
